An independent, editorial guide to retirement planning in Germany. No products, no commissions, no advice.
Silberpfad is an editorial information offering on retirement planning in Germany. The target audience is people between 45 and 65 who have reached the point of serious retirement planning and are looking for a sober introduction to the basics: the three pillars, the pension gap, ETF savings plans, tax rules, inflation protection, thematic investments such as artificial intelligence.
Articles are deliberately concise. A good guide removes uncertainty for the reader; a textbook should not cost them sleep.
Silberpfad is not advice, neither within the meaning of the German Securities Institutions Act nor in any other sense. No financial products are sold, brokered or recommended. There are no commissions, no affiliate links, no advertising banners on the site itself.
For individual decisions on retirement, investment or tax, consult a fee-only adviser authorised in Germany (Honorarberater under §34h GewO) who advises on a fee basis and does not receive commissions.
The German state pension alone is no longer enough for most people to maintain their standard of living in retirement. At the same time, private provision remains a field where many products are sold with high costs and limited transparency.
Good editorial content is one possible counterweight: readable, independent, source-backed. That is the only claim this site makes.
